It’s rare when two separate visions can align to produce something truly amazing. Yet, this is what happened when the Millers met the Nystroms and decided to open Upper Bench back in 2011. Gavin Miller, award-winning winemaker, brought his talents together with formidable businessman, Wayne Nystrom. Shana Miller’s creamery skills and Margareta Nystrom’s love for cheese brought all four of them together, much to the benefit of wine and cheese lovers across the country. Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Upper Bench Red, and the Estate Merlot are some of the hand-tended, low-intervention wines available from Upper Bench. Big, bold reds and crisp, dry whites reflect the environment and soils that underpin Upper Bench’s quality.
