Near Oliver, BC, the family-run Stoneboat Winery is making wines that fully express the rocky soil of their vineyard site. On example: Their Grand Piano Brut.
Pinot Blanc and Müller-Thurgau from Stone Boat’s oldest vines were harvested early and married in this fresh, fruit-driven and mineral-forward sparkling wine. Vinified using the traditional Méthode Cuve Close — and ideal method of carbonation that maintains freshness of flavour and aromatics — the Grand Piano Brut is the only wine of its kind in the province. Expect refreshing aromas of citrus and peach, followed by juicy pear and nectarine, and a fine, creamy mousse.
