Seña bottle

In 1995, Eduardo Chadwick pioneered the joint venture Seña with renowned winemaker Robert Mondavi to handcraft a world-class wine from Chile. After four long years of searching they found the ideal sloped terroir in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley. In 2005 Chadwick assumed complete ownership of the Seña project, and focused on biodynamic farming and impeccable winemaking. Seña is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. This deep ruby coloured wine offers black pepper, dark fruits, dark chocolate and tobacco notes on the nose. The palate opens smoothly with classic Chilean Cabernet flavours of cassis, graphite and smoked herbs, layered atop supple, plush tannins. Bright acidity lifts this powerful, full-bodied red, and the length is long, complex and full of vitality. It’s a supremely balanced and elegant style of wine from a cooler-than-average vintage. It will cellar for over a decade, or pair now with a prime cut of beef. Seña’s vision 22 years ago was to create a Chilean ‘first growth’, and they have done precisely that.
