Rigal Cahors 2013 is from Southwest France and is a dense, savoury red wine.
This chewy and dark-fruited wine shows off the Malbec grape in its homeland of Southwest France. Cahors (say ka-OR) is an historic wine producing region (known for ‘black’ wines) and the house of Rigal has been using this local hero for over 250 years. You’ll find dense and savoury fruit flavours of blackcurrant and plum, gravelly terraces confer a stony character, and the Atlantic climate can be sensed in the lip-smacking acidity and streamlined body. Contrast this with an Argentine Malbec for fun! Pairs well with a simple grilled steak or spicy empanada.
