Okanagan Crush Pad, home to Narrative and Haywire wines, is at the vanguard of the region’s winemaking movement, producing bottles such as Haywire Switchback Vineyard Wild Ferment.
One hundred per cent harvested from Crush Pad’s Switchback Vineyard, these Pinot Gris grapes were harvested on October 21, pressed, and put in an 800-litre amphora to be fermented by their own wild, native yeast. A little extra skin contact gives this wine a peachy hue. Expect notes of pear, herbs and subtle redcurrant, with a lingering finish. Best served at slightly below room temperature, not fully chilled.
