Nichol Vineyards is the northernmost winery on the Naramata Bench. The roots of the winery are strong and visionary, with its Syrah vineyard being the first for this grape in all of Canada. Extremely low yields, hands-on vineyard practices and slow conversion to dry-farming shows in the focus and concentration of Nichol’s grapes. Little intervention in the winemaking allows the Naramata terroir to reveal its pedigree, with the grapes being the stars of the show. The wines are vegan and are neither fined nor filtered. The absence of colour fixers, acidification techniques, and flavour and alcohol enhancers mean Nichol Vineyards is firmly rooted in high quality, non-interventionist winemaking. The stellar wines produced by Nichol include Syrah, Pinot Gris and their characterful Nine Mile Red.
