Mission Hill Quatrain 2012 from the Okanagan Valley is a balanced, rich, dense red wine.
A quatrain is four lines of verse. Mission Hill has interpreted this poetic device in vinous form: four varieties that deftly mesh into an eloquent and structured rich red wine. Comprised of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, this unique cuvée was fermented in custom designed small French oak fermenters. Black cherry and licorice notes are framed by hints of mint chocolate and orange peel. This vibrant red wine has a long savoury aftertaste with a firm, earthy finish and a distinct herbal signature. Decant this wine prior to serving to allow the wine breathing time, and to draw out mesmerizing flavours. Quatrain is one of Mission Hill’s most serious and and most-loved big reds. Serve along with dinner’s centerpiece - ideally a prime roast, or a fitting finale to a special meal with fine aged cheese.
