Fresh from the south of France, Lorgeril’s L’Orangeraie Rosé is an outstanding value.
Is this the best priced French Rosé going? There is huge bang for your buck in this global star. It’s called l’Orangeraie (say loh-rahn-gerr-ee) because it’s the kind of wine you want to drink outside in an ‘orangerie’, a greenhouse or conservatory where people might lounge and sip Rosé (amongst potted orange trees!). Orange also describes the delicate hue of this blend of classic grapes Grenache, Cinsault (with a little Syrah and Merlot). Bright red fruit, smooth texture and crisp, dry finish, this pink over-delivers massively for the price. This should be your house Rosé, all year long. Do as the French do, and pair with a simple charcuterie picnic, some take-out Chinese, or chipotle pork burgers.
