López de Haro
Rioja Alta is the site of Lopez de Haro, a winery located below the Toloño Mountains. Lopez de Haro’s location, microclimate, and features create ideal conditions for its vineyards. High rainfall during winter, combined with wind flows, ensures the health development of its the winery’s vines. The vines sourced for wine production range in age, from 50, to 80, to even 100 years old. A traditional process, referred to as gobelet-trained, emphasizes natural cultivation, including photosynthesis and hand harvesting. The evolutionary approach to winemaking is balanced with tradition, as the winery makes wine with 12 different Spanish designations. This expansive production represents only some of the notable wines for which Lopez de Haro is known.
