Domaine Marc Morey
The Domaine Marc Morey et fils is the history of a family, since this operation has existed since 1919, when Fernand Morey decided to set up his farm on his mother's premises, a former restaurant relay diligence. He was joined by his son Marc in 1944, himself joined in 1977 by his daughter Marie-Joseph and his son-in-law Bernard Mollard; Today it is in the company of their daughter Sabine that they direct this field. It extends over 9 ha, ie 0 ha 76 of Aligoté, 7 ha 24 of Chardonnay and 1 ha of Pinot Noir.
Rigor and respect of the terroir are the key words of the domain. The vines are cut into single guyot or cordon de Royat, the disbudding is severe for an optimum yield, the works in green are rigorous, the leafing of the patches of red is systematic. The soil is worked throughout the year. For several years, the field has entered into a reasoned control approach, treatments are positioned at the best times and only if they are absolutely necessary. Respect for the environment is an important consideration. The vinification is flexible, adapted to each vintage, the aging on the lees lasts 10 months for the white wines and 15 months for the red wines with 25 to 30% new barrels to allow a better expression of the terroirs. The filtrations are soft and depend on the clarity of the wines. The wines of the domain play the card of finesse, freshness and minerality more than opulence.
