Domaine Chevrot Cuvée des Quatre Terroirs Bourgogne Aligoté 2014 is a blended white wine from France.
Established on the fringe of the celebrated Côte de Beaune, Domaine Chevrot is a family-run estate with a small portfolio of charming and very serious wines. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a citrusy grape known as Aligoté, receive conscientious organic treatment in the vineyard, and then hands-off winemaking once in the cellar. This pretty wine displays green apple and citrus intensity, cleansing acidity, creamy mid-palate and a long, tingling finish. If you like Sauvignon Blanc or unoaked Chardonnay, you’ll love this dry and super-crisp wine… and I bet you will be a new fan of the Aligoté grape. Fun fact: the combination of wine and crème de cassis known as a ‘Kir’ was invented in the 1900s by Felix Kir, the mayor of Dijon… and the zingy wine of the original cocktail was always Aligoté! Pair with sushi, pan-fried oysters or a herby chicken salad.
