Cave de Lugny’s Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé NV is a bottle-fermented sparkling wine from one of France’s foremost cooperatives. The Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé NV is a crisp blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay.
Cave de Lugny is one of the most important cooperatives in France. Located in Burgundy’s Macon region (where 50% of total production is made by cooperatives, it comprises 250 winegrowing estates with over 3,700 acres of vines. The Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gamay, all harvested and fermented separately. The Pinot and Gamay are given a short maceration; the Chardonnay is pressed directly into stainless steel tanks. The different lots are then assembled for traditional secondary fermentation and elevage in bottle. The wine is bright and fresh with delicate mousse and lovely aromas of red berries. It is delightful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to tapas or charcuterie.
