The Cowichan Valley takes its name from the First Nation’s word for “the warm land,” a fitting designation for a region that enjoys Canada’s warmest mean temperature. Blue Grouse Estate Winery uses the elements at its disposal, from wind protection, to southern exposure, to clay gravelly soil, and of course the nurturing air and spring water. Passion, dedication, hard work, and obsession are all factors that allow winemaker Bailey Williamson to produce a diverse array of wines. The Brunner family runs the estate vineyard and has several quality varieties planted, including Ortega, Bacchus, Pinot Gris, Siegerrebe, Pinot Noir, and Black Muscat. The Blue Grouse portfolio focuses on capturing fruit purity and freshness in a range that includes lively whites, rose, red blends and a traditional method sparkler.
