On the Naramata Bench not far from Penticton, BC, Bench 1775 is creating unique wines that speak to the region’s terroir, including their Merlot.
This deep, garnet-red Merlot exhibits aromas of black sage, dark fruit and tobacco. On the palate, they’re joined by plum pudding, anise and gentle notes of cocoa and wood. Background earthiness and lithe tannins give this wine fine structure and a long finish. A glass will taste amazing today, and even better after five years of aging. This deftly balanced Merlot is best paired with lamb shank, grilled steak and roast vegetables.
