Ancient Hill
  • Kelowna

Established by Richard and Jitske Kamphuys in East Kelowna, Ancient Hill was first planted in 2005 with Baco Noir, Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Zweigelt, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris vines. The name of the winery acknowledges the role of millenia-old geological forces in shaping the terroir of its wine. The Ancient Hill site was covered by glaciers 25,000 years ago. They melted, and formed part of “Lake Penticton.’ Alluvial deposits left by these prehistoric developments established the character of the vineyard’s soil, leaving mineral traces detectable in Ancient Hills’ wine today
