Layne Robert Craig and Brenda Hetman-Craig needed a change, and Vancouver Island was calling. A favourable climate and a variety of fresh food made Comox Valley a great place for a winery. The couple brought their agricultural background and green priorities to the 24 acre property, one that promised renewal and purpose. They enlisted the support of award-winning winemaker Matt Dumayne, whose knowledge is accumulated from Central Otago, California, Australia, and Oregon. Having produced over 25 vintages, Dumayne was ready for the 40 Knots adventure. Pinot Gris, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Siegerrebe are some of the great selections produced by 40 Knots through their Silver medal winning geen approach. Going forward by going backwards, 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery is showing that progress is about purpose and vision.
